Collinsonia canadensis
Liquid extract of fresh flowering tops & rhizome.

Actions: Heart and circulatory tonic; quiets irritation and gives strength and regularity to heart's action. Astringent tonic to veins and mucous membranes; allays venous stasis, congestion and sense of constriction in the throat, larynx and ears.

Uses: Specific to maladies associated with flaccid, atonic veins, venous stasis and torpor of portal circulation: hemorrhoids with constriction, heat and weight in rectum (especially during pregnancy); to relieve soreness and facilitate recovery from rectal surgery; varicose veins; vascular engorgement and mucous membrane irritation of pelvic viscera (e.g., chronic gastro-enteritis with catarrh or diarrhea). Female disorders dependent upon varicosis: amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, menorrhagia, leukorrhea, flaccid or prolapsed uterus and threatened miscarriage. Chronic laryngitis, pharyngitis, middle ear inflammation, bronchitis and tracheitis; hoarseness due to voice strain. Heart debility due to inflammation, protracted fevers and overstrain, and in chronic inflammation of pericardium. Chronic catarrhal conditions of kidneys and bladder.

Dose: Take 30 to 40 drops, 2 to 4 times per day. As a gargle, mix drops in a little water and gargle several times per day.
