CULVER'S ROOT
Veronicastrum virginicum
Liquid extract of dried rhizome with rootlets (aged 1 year before extraction).

Actions: Mildly stimulates liver function, promotes secretion of bile, and removes accumulated detritus from the gallbladder. Gentle-acting laxative that stimulates peristalsis and cleanses digestive tract of viscid mucus. Improves digestive function. Gentle action especially indicated for children and the elderly.

Uses: Atony of liver, gallbladder and intestines, and enfeebled portal circulation; hepatitis, cholecystitis, and non-obstructive jaundice. Chronic constipation associated with liver congestion. Specific in chronic enteritis. Poor digestion and dyspepsia due to atony of the stomach and liver.

Dose: Take 30 to 40 drops, 2 to 4 times per day.

Cautions: Large doses may produce colic in cases of gallstones or obstruction of bile ducts or intestines.
