CHILDREN’S HERBAL COMPOUND
Tonic for Babies & Small Children

A blend of the liquid extracts of:

* Chamomile flower (Matricaria recutita) 21%
* Lemon Balm leaf & flower (Melissa officinalis) 17.5%
* Catnip leaf & flower (Nepeta cataria) 17.5%
• Fennel seed (Foeniculum vulgare) 14%
Vegetable Glycerine, USP 30%

* Fresh • Dried

Actions: The four herbs in this compound are classic folk remedies that have proven themselves to be reliable and safe in the home healthcare of babies and small children. The collective actions of these herbs are: antibacterial and antiviral, anti-inflammatory, carminative, antispasmodic, gently sedative, mildly astringent, soothingly expectorant, and best of all, they taste good.

Uses
: Although not a panacea, this compound can be helpful in most ordinary health problems of children. It is indicated in feverish conditions (colds, flu, coughs, etc.); diarrhea, upset tummy and colic; and as a gentle sedative for the fretting and peevishness associated with teething or other irritating or nervous conditions. It can also help in treating infant jaundice.

Dose: Serving size is 1 drop per 4 pounds of child’s body weight (e.g.,10 drops for a 40- pound child). Give two to five servings per day mixed in water or juice.

For feverish conditions, drops are best taken in hot water in order to induce a sweat – otherwise take with room-temperature water.

Adjunct Therapy
: The addition of 5 to 15 drops of Echinacea Extract or Echinacea Glycerite to each dose of the above is recommended in any infection, especially if there is fever.

Cautions: There are no known contraindications to this compound, although one must be very careful not to let the child get chilled if sweating. This compound is not a substitute for professional healthcare. If fever, pain or other symptoms are severe or persistent, promptly consult a qualified healthcare practitioner.
